A new violin concerto composed by Reza Namavar, in which his deep fascination with Vivaldi resonates.

Janáčeks Intimate Letters is filled with raw emotion, vivid contrasts, and expressive melodies—expressions of his deeply felt, Platonic love for Kamila Stösslová, who was thirty-eight years his junior.

The approximately seven hundred love letters he wrote to her between 1919 and his death in 1928 culminated in one of the most personal and passionate string quartets of the 20th century. Weinberg, too, was known for his deeply expressive music; in his *Rhapsody*, he transforms Moldovan folk melodies into an energetic klezmer dance. Commissioned by Amsterdam Sinfonietta, Dutch composer Reza Namavar is writing a new violin concerto that reflects his deep fascination with Vivaldi. We will perform the world premiere together with violinist Liza Ferschtman.
