Violist Liza Ferschtman is considered one of the most compelling musical personalities of our time. Her passionate playing and commanding stage presence never fail to move audiences. Receiving the Dutch Music Prize in 2006—the highest honor for Dutch musicians—underscored her significance in the musical landscape both at home and abroad.
In recent seasons, she has performed with orchestras such as the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, Amsterdam Sinfonietta, Residentie Orkest, Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Dutch radio orchestras. On the international stage, she has collaborated with the Bremen Philharmonic, Bergen Philharmonic, BBC National Orchestra of Wales, London Philharmonic, Ulster Orchestra, Yomiuri Nippon Orchestra, and the Budapest Festival Orchestra.
Conductors with whom she has worked in recent years include Jaap van Zweden, Lev Markiz, Jun Märkl, Frans Brüggen, Neeme Järvi, Otto Tausk, Karl-Heinz Steffens, Stefan Blunier, Zdeněk Mácal, Dmitry Sitkovetsky, Thomas Søndergård, and Iván Fischer.
