In Out of the stillness, Nederlands Dans Theater (NDT 1) highlights the company’s artistic range through works by two distinctive makers. Hofesh Shechter returns with a world premiere, his fourth creation for NDT. Alongside this, The missing door (2013) by Gabriela Carrizo is revived.
Together, these works bring contrasting choreographic approaches into a single, cohesive evening.
World premiere by Hofesh Shechter
Hofesh Shechter is known for his physical, rhythmic and intensely musical style. In this new creation for NDT 1, he once again explores the boundaries of movement, energy and collectivity. His work is marked by its immediacy and the strong interplay between dance and music.
This world premiere adds a new chapter to his ongoing collaboration with the company.
Dance and theatre in The missing door
In The missing door, Gabriela Carrizo merges dance and theatre into a layered and unsettling world. The piece plays with alienation, humour and tension, creating a shifting reality in which logic is constantly disrupted.
Its return to the stage reaffirms the lasting impact of Carrizo’s work within the NDT 1 repertoire.
