What happens when you dance on wool? In FELT (2+), young children discover how movement can change materials. By rolling, stamping, and turning, something new slowly emerges: wool becomes felt. Not by itself, but through rhythm, repetition, and collaboration. The performers move to live music and take the children along in this process. Dance and material respond to each other, creating an ever-changing play floor.
Watching together and participating
FELT is an open and accessible performance where watching and participating coexist. Children are allowed to move freely, explore, and react to what is happening. The performers engage in interaction and create space for their own play and imagination. The world of wool, sheep, and sound appeals to multiple senses. Perhaps the wool can not only be seen and felt but also smelled.
Playing after the performance
After the performance, children are invited onto the stage. There, they can continue to play with wool, make sounds with wooden instruments, and create a small work. This collective conclusion extends the experience and provides space to explore the material and movement in their own way.
